Beermaking: It is used in the mash to increase pH and add “temporary hardness”. Use 1 tsp per 5 gallons.
Winemaking: Lowers acidity in wine. Use ½ teaspoon per gallon to lower acidity .1%. Do not reduce acid more than .3%. Use before fermentation.
There are approximately 9 teaspoons per ounce.
