Doppelbock, literally meaning “double bock”, is a stronger, darker version of a Bavarian Bock. It is exceptionally malty, with very little bitterness, allowing the richness of the specialty malt flavors to shine. Proper aging can even bring out some fruit character, with the sweeter complexities of plums or grapes emerging after several months. This beer is high in alcohol, almost 8% ABV, but extremely drinkable – a delicious malty treat.
