Triple-Scale Hydrometer (Specific Gravity, Potential Alcohol and Ball). A high-quality glass instrument used to test the amount of sugar dissolved in a liquid. Can be used for both Beermaking and Winemaking. Readings taken before and after fermentation can be used to calculate alcohol content. Especially handy when making wine from fresh fruit, as the amount of sugar found in fruit depends greatly on ripeness and growing conditions.
To use, simply float the hydrometer in a sample of your wine or beer. We suggest using a Test Jar to hold your sample for testing, but you could just float the sanitized Hydrometer in the cooled brewpot or fermenter. Full instructions are included.
